Recently, there have been numerous cases of unreported petty crimes in your neighbourhood. Many of your neighbours are complaining of vandalism and pick pocketing occurrences. These petty criminals are getting away scot free and residents are starting to worry for their safety. Here are some safety tips for you people!

Safety precautions:
  1. For ladies, bring a pepper spray along with you at all times.
  2. Be crime conscious – be aware of crime opportunities at all times.
  3. Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you.
  4. Know all emergency numbers.
  5. Trust your instinct.
  6. Avoid talking to strangers.
  7. Avoid going onto a congested street where you cannot even walk properly, that is where you will find criminals pick pocketing.
  8. Avoid displaying valuables where criminals can see them.
  9. Walk in well-lit busy streets and in a group, if possible.
  10. Keep your cellular phone away from the public eye.
Personal safety is about risk reduction, using good common sense and trusting your instincts.
Besides the problem of crimes in Valley Street, some residents have also noticed a sudden increase in the number of stray cats and dogs in the area. The streets are littered with cat food as people are feeding these cats. In addition, there are also reported cases of joggers being bitten by stray dogs. Something needs to be done about these stray animals.
Safety precautions:
  1. Carry food as distractions
  2. Never approach a stray dog
  3. Walk with awareness, beware of your surroundings
  4. Do not run away from a stray dog as they will chase you
  5. If there are no other options left. Attack them with full force.
  6. Wear thick clothes if you must.
